A Weekend of Firsts

Our weekend began as every other, with our weekly babysitting swap, but in replacement of our usual dinner out, I took Greg to his very first...Rummage Sale! Yes this borders on nerdy, and cheap, (and a slew of other names I'm sure you all have in your back pocket). We (I) had a blast filling our sack with great clothes for the boys. An hour and $20 well spent dollars later, we embarked my next first of the evening.

We drove across town to a local church see a concert. My very first Christian concert. Growing up the the Bible belt, praise concerts are an old hat for Greg. But for me it was definitely and experience to see hands raised to the sky, a chapel covered in radio station banners, and some really rocking music with the giant cross as a backdrop. But we were able to see Chris Sligh, an American Idol finalist turned Christian artist. And the best part? Since we arrived late, the ushers let us in for free. It might have even made the concert worth it...

The firsts continued on Saturday as we went apple picking for the first time to a nearby orchard to pick a whopping ten pounds of apples (apple butter anyone?). It was a very relaxing afternoon as Jackson ran around the orchard eating apples as he went. On a related note, it was also Bennett's first apple. The kids were in heaven, and conversely, so were we.

A great weekend of firsts for the rose clan. Now what to do with 10 pounds of apples...
