Davis' Blessing Day
Wednesday, May 4, 2011

Dear Davis,
At four weeks old you were blessed on May 1st. Even though your father predicted he might "receive inspiration" to change your name to Jimmer last minute, he complied and Davis Jacob it was. You were dressed in white and looked angelic. It was a beautiful spring morning and seemed to fit the day perfectly. The day was full of miracles, the first being that we made it to church 10 minutes early.Your Grandpa Barlow flew in all the way from California and was able to be part of the blessing. The second miracle was that Jackson and Bennett were quiet as church mice so that I could listen to the wonderful blessing your father gave. Unfortunately you did not get the memo and cried through nearly the entire blessing. We still love you though.
No blessing day is complete without a family picture, or in our case, an attempted family picture. You were perfect and slept through it. It think Jackson and Bennett seemed to know it wasn't their day, but did their best to make sure they weren't forgotten.
Thank you for joining our family. It's almost hard to remember what our family was like before you were a part of it.
Love,
Mom
PS. The third miracle was that Jackson was healthy on the blessing day. After vomiting in the Applebees bathroom the day before we feared the worst. Turns out chugging down a full glass of chocolate milk in one gulp isn't such a great idea.

That Davis picture is so cute! What a handsome boy. Hey at least 2 of your 3 kids were quiet during the blessing :) Glad your dad could make it in. I hope we get to see you guys this summer!

Davis looks like an angel in that picture. Love the bottom family photo with Jackson and Bennett. Made me smile. Thank heavens jackson had recovered from chocolate milk "poisening" in time for church the next day.
